The forecast of the management lead the society to set up a Centrifugal
Latex Factory in 1975 with the assistance of Rubber Board
, N.C.D.C., and State Government. It is the first and premier centrifugal
latex factory in co - operative sector in India. Right from the
beginning Meenachil captured the cenex market by its quality. As
a result of the consistency in quality, Meenachil get 50 paise per
litre as premium.
The management of the Centrifugal Latex Factory is vested with a
Management Committee with the following Directors as its members.

The operation, control and the management of the factory are the
responsibilities of the Factory Management Committee. There is
a full time Factory Manager, who is the Chief Executive officer
of the factory.
Capacity
The capacity of the unit is 16 MT DRC/day. Now with the aid of
NCDC & Rubber Board, 2 more Alpha Laval LRH 610 machines are
added to its production line.
Machinery
5 Nos. Alpha Laval Latex separators (LRH . 410 - 2 Nos, LRB. 510
- 1 No, LRH. 610 - 2No) are installed in the plant. The details
of machinery installed with capacity and name of manufacturer
are given in Annexure 1.
Raw
Material
Raw Materials are collected through Rubber Producing Society's
& Meenachil's own collection centers. At present Meenachil
have a net work of more than 100 centers to collect raw latex
. Presently Meenachil require above 200 barrels of procured field
latex/day for the smooth running.
Laboratory

The Centrifugal Latex Factory has a well equipped laboratory with
complete testing facilities to test all the parameters of 60%
latex. The tests include all the parameters specified by the Bureau
of Indian Standards viz. Dry rubber content, Total solid content,
VFA number, Mechanical stability, Alkalinity, KOH number, Sludge
content, Coagulam content, Copper content & Manure content.
In addition to it we are testing viscosity & magnesium content.
The latest model equipments are used for testing. Details of testing
equipments are attached in Annexure -II.
Quality
Strictly adhere the specification of Bureau of Indian Standards
(IS 5430 - 1981).
Technical Staff
Qualified persons are placed in the procurement, quality control,
and maintenance section. The factory have its own accounts department
to take care of the financial matters. The details of technical
staff with their qualification is given in
Annexure III.
Pollution
Control
Meenachil has constructed an effective Pollution Control system
to treat the effluent water. Secured 2nd place among medium scale
industry in making substantial and sustained effort in Pollution
Control in 1998 and secured certificate of merit from Kerala State
Pollution Control Board.

Meenachil
Centrifugal Latex Factory is the first one in the co-operative sector
having ISO 9001:2000 certification. The certification
is issued by T U V and is valid until May 2005. With this Meenachil
is ready to meet the global challenge.
